How it Works

The Zimmerman Fitness Challenge is back! We’ve returned to the UMaine campus, now with a new course, new challenges, but the same spirit to push ourselves to the next level! Since we’re returning to our roots of an in-person challenge, we will no longer be offering the remote option to run the event. However, if you’re unable to make it to this years event, please reach out – we will always work with and support anyone looking to challenge themselves!

The Challenge will be split into two different levels: Motivated and Hardcore. The Motivated level will total just over 3 miles and includes trail running, casualty evacuation, low crawl, and calisthenics. The Hardcore level will follow the Motivated course, but will include an additional 2 miles with rucking, hill rushes, and a modified Murph! No matter which level you choose, teams of up to 4 people are greatly encouraged, however any number between 1 and 4 will be accepted. Grab your battle buddies and start training today!

To register for this year’s event, gather your team and have each person register here online under “Compete”. Once that is done, we will reach out to confirm. All that’s left is arriving the day of and getting after it!

On Saturday, April 15th, arrive between 10:00 – 10:45 am for check-in at the UMaine Naval ROTC House – 378 College Ave, Orono ME, 04473. The race will start at 10:00 am so plan ahead and give yourselves plenty of time to arrive. Shirts will be available for pick-up before or after the challenge. After the race, there will be an award ceremony, as well as time for all participants to meet and greet. As always, we encourage everyone to take plenty of picture and to send them our way, or to tag us on Facebook.
